Suggested additions, with evidence

Where existing destination components fall short, and what to build or compose.

Build where the gap affects content or behavior

These 12 suggestions come from the repaired component review. Priority 1 addresses navigation, page structure and service continuity. Priority 2 provides reusable editorial patterns. Conditional items need additional work only when their particular behavior is retained.

Each entry pairs the legacy example or inventory evidence with an existing FYE starting point, explains the missing capability, and outlines a proposed addition. A proposed pattern can use existing blocks; it does not automatically need a new custom block.

Evidence limits: templates are schematics; calendars and equipment forms are inventory-only; video and optional portrait needs come from documented options. Examples use sample content. Interactive previews demonstrate the repaired extraction, not live WordPress compatibility.

12 suggestions shown

Priority 1New component

Section navigation

Keep orientation within a department or section when the legacy page tree is still required.

Evidence of the gap

The legacy example shows nested page links. The FYE Secondary header example shows an introduction and action, without that tree. Its curated navigation option does not establish automatic ancestor/sibling/child behavior.

A static preview cannot prove tree generation. The need also follows the source Sidebar Nav Settings fields. A curated header menu is sufficient if automatic hierarchy is deliberately retired.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Determine current sectionShow parent and nested pagesMark current pageCollapse appropriately on mobile

Ready when: Changing page hierarchy updates the navigation; current-page state and direct child links work on desktop and mobile.

Priority 1Maintained integration / content model

People directory and biography pages

Preserve people search, filtering, contact information and direct biography links.

Evidence of the gap

The source documents an external JavaScript people feed and bio pages. The FYE sample shows queried cards. Similar card shapes do not provide the people data, field mapping or bio routes.

Choose either a maintained external integration or a local people content type before building. The source demo is schematic; sample FYE filters do not prove runtime parity.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

People feed or local people contentSearch and group filtersPerson/contact resultsIndividual biography page

Ready when: Search and filters return the intended people; contact links, data refresh and direct bio URLs continue working.

Priority 1Maintained plugin / integration block

RDC equipment booking and submission

Keep equipment availability, booking and submission connected to the actual service.

Evidence of the gap

The source inventory names 42 scripts, including equipment-specific submission scripts and all-calendar scripts. The destination Embed example is a placeholder and supplies no demonstrated booking workflow.

The inventory contains variants and dated files, not proof of 42 active workflows. Audit active usage and retain a supported service integration; a new booking engine is not implied.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Equipment and service identityAvailability / calendarBooking or submissionConfirmation and error handling

Ready when: Each equipment selection reaches the correct service; a test booking/submission and confirmation complete successfully.

ConditionalMaintained interaction components

Tabs and modal dialogs

Preserve these interactions where they serve a real page requirement.

Evidence of the gap

Details provides expandable content. It does not reproduce tab selection or an overlay dialog. The source widget sample is a guide-only reconstruction because the supplied tabs script is empty.

Verify actual use first. Inspect Sticky Nav Item’s tab layout before commissioning a new tab component. The guide-only source sample does not prove historical runtime behavior.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Choose tab / accordion / dialog intentProvide semantic controlsManage keyboard and focusSupport close / return focus

Ready when: Tabs have keyboard navigation and selected state; dialogs support dismissal and return focus; accordion content remains accessible.

Priority 2New reusable pattern

Filmstrip

Preserve the complete introduction, action and multi-image row in one consistent composition.

Evidence of the gap

The repaired source shows a split introduction and three adjacent images. Gallery covers the images; the standalone destination example has no matching introduction or action.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Headline and primary action + descriptionThree-image Gallery rowConsistent crops and spacingMobile image stacking

Ready when: Authors can replace copy and images without rebuilding the layout; image count, captions and actions survive conversion.

Priority 2New reusable pattern

Fast Facts

Make repeated numerical facts easy to author with consistent labels and optional icons.

Evidence of the gap

The source uses a horizontal set of facts beside its introduction. The FYE Highlight List starter stacks numbers vertically and does not demonstrate the legacy icon/boxed variants.

Existing Columns, Heading and Image blocks can implement this. A dedicated block is justified only if usage and structured editing needs warrant it.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Introductory heading and actionNumber + label + optional iconRepeat in a horizontal rowStack in meaningful mobile order

Ready when: Numbers, qualifiers, labels and icons remain paired; authors can update values without breaking the presentation.

Priority 2New reusable / synced pattern

Contact information

Avoid rebuilding the same dense contact information differently on every page.

Evidence of the gap

The source example contains a structured contact card. Group supplies a container and background, but its sample does not supply contact fields or shared-update behavior.

Use a synced pattern when updates should propagate. Add a dedicated contact block only if field validation or centrally managed contacts are required.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Heading and contact name / roleLocation and opening hoursPhone / email / social linksOptional shared-content reference

Ready when: Phone/email links work and shared updates reach the intended pages. The card fits the chosen sidebar or main-flow layout.

Priority 2New reusable pattern

Quote with portrait

Keep a quotation, attribution and optional portrait together.

Evidence of the gap

Quote preserves the text and citation. The source component’s documented optional image is not included in the standalone FYE Quote example.

The supplied RDC example is text-only. The portrait need comes from documented component options, not a visible portrait in this sample.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Optional portrait / imageQuotationAttribution and linksResponsive two-column Group

Ready when: Portrait, quote and attribution stay together; linked citations and mobile reading order are preserved.

ConditionalHeader extension / composed hero

RDC video hero

Support an introductory video only where retaining it is important.

Evidence of the gap

The source large-media component documents video/poster options. FYE Primary is an image-led header; its documented fields do not supply the same video/poster model.

Both samples illustrate image states. This is a documented capability gap, not visual proof of missing video playback. An image-only hero can use existing FYE headers.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Image or video mediaPoster / static fallbackTitle and action overlayPlayback and reduced-motion handling

Ready when: The hero retains one logical page title, readable actions and a usable static fallback; video behavior is checked in WordPress.

ConditionalMaintained integration block

Full calendars and event submission

Preserve full calendar controls or event submission separately from event teasers.

Evidence of the gap

The source lists calendar and submission scripts. FYE Trumba Events shows upcoming-event cards and a calendar link, which do not establish a full calendar or submission interface.

There is no rendered source calendar in this extraction. Evaluate actual embedded services before choosing the integration.

Proposed structure

Concept only — this describes the suggested addition; it is not an implemented destination component.

Calendar / service identitySupported calendar embed or viewFilters or submission form as neededService confirmation

Ready when: The intended calendar, filters and submission destination work; event teaser cards continue using the existing Trumba Events block.
